Rush University Medical Center, Introduction to Research (2015)

Below are links to the syllabus and handout used by George Fitchett and Pat Murphy to teach research literacy in their CPE residency program. The curriculum is taught in 8 half-day seminars in January when the students have no other seminars. The central feature of the curriculum is small group work to read and present research articles with their peers. The initial articles are selected by the faculty; subsequent articles are selected by the students.

Rush University Medical Center, Introduction to Research: A Webinar Didactic for CPE Residents (2012)

In 2012, George Fitchett and Pat Murphy developed a curriculum for a webinar-based research literacy course for CPE residents. Due to lack of interest, the proposed curriculum was never launched, but the link is available on the home page of the ACPE Research Network website (scroll to the bottom of the page). The readings that were selected may be of interest in planning a CPE research literacy course. Perhaps a CPE system or cluster of CPE programs could offer a course like this.
